Emily Larson & Mark Whelan
Join us in toasting Emily and Mark as we appreciate their amazing abilities to capture art in cartoonesque form.
Nancy Sojka - Quilts
Nancy grew up in Wiota, a small town in Southwestern Iowa. She spent the summers riding a bike, playing outdoors, and making stuff. She was always encouraged by her family to go to college and be an art teacher. Both of her grandmothers, Ruth and Nellie, were makers of stuff (gardens, quilts, clothing, pickles) and taught her many techniques in creativitiy
Whims & Whimsy
Lauren takes time to play with paint and glue. She collects things from the ground or saves bits of trash which might make interesting shapes for collages. For Lauren, art is a way to enter a mind space totally occupied by the moment of creation.
Lauren's work is instinctual and intentional. She starts with a collage of random shiny and/or textured materials and lets the shapes wash over her until the image emerges.

JUNE ARTISTS: Lee Zieke & Lindsay Lee
Artists/naturalists Lee Zieke and Lindsay Lee have long been known around the area for their work in landscape gardening and as growers of perennial flowers. Lesser known are their talents with willow and other natural materials like pastels and riven green wood.
MAY ARTIST: Nick Chill Photography
For Nick, photography is more than just an art form. It is an extension of his inner, spiritual journey. A practice of seeing the world for more than the physical forms that surround us. To experience and feel the energy that connects us all.
